Associazione Musicale Giovanni Bottesini

The Musical Association Giovanni Bottesini is born from the enthusiasm of young individuals from Crema, who love music and their city.
Crema boasts of an important musical history, which has expressed itself since 1600, thanks to figures such as Francesco Cavalli, Giuseppe Gazzaniga, Stefano Pavesi, Vincenzo Petrali and Giovanni Bottesini.

Hence the desire to give value to the musical heritage of Crema by organizing excellent musical and cultural events of international value. Over the years, the Association’s efforts have increasingly been focused on the promotion of music and opera, with special attention to the supporting and discovering of new talents.

The Fondazione Teatro Carlo Felice is the main opera house in Genoa and one of the most important in Italy. Its orchestra, active since the early 1900s, also survived the bombings of 1943 and, since 1965, has evolved under the guidance of famous conductors such as V. De Sabata, C.M. Giulini and F. Luisi. With a vast repertoire and numerous recordings, the Orchestra del Teatro Carlo Felice stands out for its versatility and expressive quality, establishing itself as one of the most important entities in the national musical panorama.

The International Violin Competition “Premio Paganini” was founded in 1954 with the aim of creating an international violin competition that would give great prestige to Genoa and allow the discovery of new young talents. The Prize soon became a prestigious event of international appeal for the city of Genoa. Since its foundation, the Competition has awarded important artists, including Gyorgy Pauk, Gérard Poulet, Salvatore Accardo, Gidon Kremer, Ilya Grubert and, more recently, Massimo Quarta, Giovanni Angeleri, Leonidas Kavakos, Ilya Gringolts and Sayaka Shoji, representing an excellent springboard for their artistic careers.

The Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona is a Traditional Theatre that stages Opera, Prose, Music and Dance. In June it organizes the Monteverdi Festival, the festival dedicated to the Cremonese father of Opera Claudio Monteverdi.

Mascarade Emerging Artists aspires to be the leading independent training and performance programme for singers and répétiteurs in the world. Working with an international network of opera houses and festivals, with Teatro La Fenice, our principal artistic partner, at its core, we aim to redefine the formation and promotion of young artists for the future.
