The International Opera Contest of Portofino was founded in 2015 to combine the beauty of a place symbol of Italy with the voices of the world most promising young opera singers.

CLIP provides the opportunity to young talents to win significant cash prizes and to find concrete work opportunities in the major European opera theaters.

The Jury is composed exclusively by directors and casting mangers of outstanding opera entities, allowing the direct contact between the singer and those who have the ability and desire to sign contracts without intermediate steps.

CASH PRIZES

First Prize: scholarship of € 7.000,00 offered by Bank CARIGE
Second Prize: scholarship of € 4.000,00
Third Prize: scholarship of € 2.500,00
Jury Prize: scholarship of € 1.000,00 to be assigned to a particularly deserving singer at the indisputable discretion of the jury.
Scholarships: the organization provides the total sum of € 3.000,00 for the allocation of scholarships to be divided equally among the finalists (the scholarship is not cumulative with the first three prizes and the jury prize).

SPECIAL PRIZES

Audience Prize: prize offered by Ceretto including a night at the Casa degli Artisti and a lunch for two in its restaurant "Piazza Duomo" (3 Michelin Stars).
To at least three singers of his choice, Maestro Peter de Caluwe will offer an audition on the stage of Theater La Monnaie in Brussels and at other great organizations.
To two singers of his choice, the Casting Manager Evamaria Weiser will offer an audition at a major opera theater or at an international festival.
Mrs. Evamaria Wieser, founding member of the Opera Course, offers two frequency places at the Masterclass organized by the Opera Course in Montepulciano , from 22 July to 10 August 2016.
The town of Crema offers a paid concert in Crema.

Portofino FILARMONICA ARTURO TOSCANINI

La Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini è una delle più importanti orchestre sinfoniche italiane. Nata nel 2002, porta avanti la grande tradizione musicale parmigiana di Niccolò Paganini e naturalmente del Maestro Toscanini.
La Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini, che ha sede presso l’Auditorium Paganini di Parma progettato da Renzo Piano, è da molti anni il punto d’eccellenza dell’attività produttiva della Fondazione Arturo Toscanini, maturata sul piano artistico nella quarantennale esperienza dell’Orchestra Regionale dell’Emilia Romagna e nell’antica tradizione musicale che affonda le proprie radici storiche nell’Orchestra Ducale riordinata a Parma da Niccolò Paganini nel 1835/36 e per i quarant’anni successivi ai vertici delle capacità esecutive nazionali.

Oggi una delle più importanti orchestre sinfoniche italiane, la Filarmonica si è esibita sotto la guida di direttori del calibro di Charles Dutoit, Eliahu Inbal, Lawrence Foster, Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Michail Jurowski, Dmitrij Kitajenko, Emmanuel Krivine, Yoel Levi, Lorin Maazel, Kurt Masur, Zubin Mehta, Krzysztof Penderecki, Michel Plasson, Georges Prêtre, Mstislav Rostropovich, Pinchas Steinberg, Jeffrey Tate e Yuri Temirkanov.
Consensi entusiastici di pubblico e critica hanno salutato debutti e ritorni nelle maggiori sale da concerti di tutto il mondo in città quali Washington, New York, Parigi, Madrid, Barcellona, Amburgo, Mosca, Lucerna, Budapest, Bucarest, Varsavia, Gerusalemme, Tel Aviv, Tokyo, Osaka, Pechino, Shanghai, Canton. In Italia, unico per tutti, rimane nella memoria il concerto del 16 gennaio 2008, che ha visto l’orchestra debuttare al Teatro alla Scala con un trionfo di pubblico, a chiusura delle Celebrazioni nazionali per il 50° anniversario della morte di Arturo Toscanini.
