The International Opera Competition of Portofino was founded in 2015 to combine the beauty of a place symbol of Italy with the voices of the world most promising young opera singers.
CLIP provides the opportunity to young talents to win significant cash prizes and to find concrete work opportunities in the major European opera theaters.
The Jury is composed exclusively by directors and casting mangers of outstanding opera entities, allowing the direct contact between the singer and those who have the ability and desire to sign contracts without intermediate steps.
The competition ends with a great concert of the finalists with the Orchestra Filarmonica dell’Opera Italiana in the historic "Piazzetta" of Portofino.

SPECIAL PRIZES

  • Audience Award: a precious jewel offered by Faraone Gioielli.
  • Special Siaa Foundation Award: a sponsorship contract with a maximum value of 9 thousand euros.
  • Special Rapallo Festival Award: consisting of paid participation for several singers selected by Maestro Roberto Servile at the Clip Lyric Concert included in the Rapallo Festival program.
  • Città of Crema Award: a paid concert offered by the City of Crema
  • Auditions at the Wiener Staatsoper: Maestro Dominique Meyer will offer an audition on the stage of the Vienna State Opera for the top three finishers, aimed at finding singers for future opera seasons.
  • Auditions at the La Monnaie Theater in Brussels: at least three singers, the Master Peter de Caluwe will offer an audition on the stage of La Monnaie Theater in Brussels or at other large institutions.
  • Contracts: the judges will be able to offer contracts with the theaters they represent.
  • Concerts and auditions to be defined
